Olive Polyphenol Extract

Organic Fruits & Leaves   100% Solvent-Free

TruOliv™ is a USDA and EU-certified, whole olive tree extract with representative actives of hydroxytyrosol and oleuropein from the fruit and leaf, respectively. TruOliv™ boasts a diverse spectrum of polyphenols enriched by the intense heat of the Moroccan stretch of the Saharan Desert.

Desert enrichment of the TruOliv™ polyphenols is a unique thermo-evaporative threat in the olive tree that results in a concentrated nutritional active that is free from any solvent, hydrolysis or waste-water processing. The conditions affording these characteristics, include but are not limited to:

• Arid, ≥ 140° F (60° C) in direct sun and rocky conditions
• Low water reserves; high water salinity
• Thermo-evaporative threads activates phenolic biosynthetic pathway (PAL)
• Phenylalanine Ammonia Lyase (PAL) activation increases polyphenol synthesis

Hydroxytyrosol, one of many polyphenols in extra virgin olive oil is a marker of olive oil quality. It is among 35+ polyphenols found in extra virgin olive oil, which are collectively described as total polyphenols (PP). A 250 mg (single capsule) dose of TruOliv™ per day delivers a number of these polyphenols in what would equate to approximately 11 tsp of good quality extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). Research has shown that the cardiovascular and anti-inflammatory potential of EVOO is optimized when it is consumed, as in Greece, in the average quantity of 11 teaspoons (3-4 tbsp.) per day. Contrastingly, the per capita consumption of quality EVOO is very low in the United States and many other parts of the world, averaging only one-half (1/2) teaspoon/ day.

Hydroxytyrosol FACTS:

• Smallest sized polyphenol known
• Most studied polyphenol in olive oil
• Highest ORAC polyphenol
• Polyphenol with efficient absorption
• Exclusive to olives/olive oil and wine

TruOliv™ delivers a quality-sourced hydroxytyrosol active that is found in the olive fruit’s natural matrix, alongside other native olive polyphenols. A single 250 mg dose of TruOliv™ easily meets EFSA’s 5 mg/day hydroxytyrosol minimum dose claim for protection against LDL oxidation.
